The FA Cup fourth round produced one of the biggest shocks in the 150 year history of the competition. Multi-millionaires Chelsea, currently leaders of the premier league, were beaten by third diision Bradford City. Chelsea were playing at home, at Stamford Bridge in London, and were leading 2-0 before a remarkable comeback by the Yorkshire team. The game ended Chelsea 2 Bradford 4 ! England beat Slovenia 3-1 in their qualifying group for the European Championships to be held in France in 2016. The match was played at Wembley Stadium and was watched by 83 000 people.

Slovenia surprisingly took the lead through an own-goal by England and Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson. But two minutes later Wayne Rooney was fouled in the penalty area and England were awarded a penalty. Rooney himself converted from the spot and scored his 44th goal for England. Only Gary Lineker and Sir Bobby Charlton have scored more goals for the national team now.

England dominated the match from then on and two goals from the Arsenal centre-forward Danny Welbeck sealed matters.
